The story follows a young man, Paul Atreides, who is the heir to the House of Atreides, a noble family that has been entrusted with the stewardship of the desert planet Arrakis. When Paul and his family are betrayed and exiled to Arrakis, he must learn to control his latent abilities and unite the planet's native people, the Fremen, in order to defeat the evil Harkonnens and their allies.
Frank Herbert's Sci-Fi Epic Dune
WEB Frank Herbert's sci-fi epic Dune has gotten two theatrical adaptations so far, and there are notable differences between Dune 1984 vs. Dune 2021. The 1984 film is more faithful to the novel, while the 2021 film takes more liberties with the source material. For example, the 1984 film includes the character of Princess Irulan, who is not in the novel. The 2021 film, on the other hand, omits the character of Stilgar, who is a key figure in the novel.
