Dodgers Recall Top Prospect Keibert Ruiz, May Promote Former Top Prospect This Weekend
Ruiz Recalled for Coverage, Miller Scratched
Before Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cubs, the Dodgers recalled catcher Keibert Ruiz, the organization's top prospect. Right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller was scratched from his Triple-A start Tuesday night with OKC. However, according to sources, it is not because the Dodgers are considering promoting him anytime soon. Miller is being held back in case the Dodgers wind up needing coverage this weekend.
Dodgers May Promote Former Top Prospect
The Dodgers could recall former top prospect, right-handed pitcher Jordan Sheffield, this weekend for coverage, according to Curt Bishop of Sporting News.
Sheffield, 25, is earning $800,000 in Triple-A this season, just $60,000 above the minor league minimum. As Bishop notes, arguably no prospect should have been off-limits in the blockbuster trade that sent him to the Brewers in 2019 for Yasmani Grandal.
